Cayuga Ducks

Cayugas have a quiet, docile temperament. When they are hand raised, they make wonderful, tame pets making them a great fit for any homesteader or backyard waterfowl enthusiast. With quality care, they can live up to 12 years. Cayugas are a welcome, colorful addition to any backyard flock. The Cayuga duck is listed as “Threatened” on the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy's Conservation Priority List. This means there are fewer than 1,000 breeding birds in the US, with ten or fewer primary breeding flocks, and they are globally endangered.

Our Cayuga ducks lay a black, grey to off white egg. When Cayuga ducks come into laying season their eggs will typically be black or dark grey and lighten up as the laying season progresses. When choosing our breeders we look for SOP traits and features for the breed as well as how dark of an egg was produced in the of the laying cycle. Some of our ducks have gone on to win at various 4H and poultry shows.
